Placencia, Belize is the amazing mainland beach location with wonderful hotels and resorts great beach and water activities and close proximity to some inland adventures. Getting to Placencia is not extremely difficult but it can be very expensive especially for groups and some individuals who are on a budget. With the economic climate the way it is currently everyone is looking for the most cost effective and comfortable transportation to start or continue your vacation.

 

The options available to get to Placencia are by air (12 seater airline) will get you there in 45 minutes and cost you around $94.50US per person. This option is best if you are looking to get there fast or your flight comes in late. Private car transfers are possible and sometimes best recommended for larger groups of four (4) or more persons and prices range from $260US 1-4 persons upward. Car Rentals are recommended when you look to explore more than just Placencia since once you get to Placencia most places are within walking distance or available by taxi at lower prices and Car Rental agencies charge high tariffs to get the car back to their Belize City office if it is a one day rental, average cost for day rental is $80US for an SUV. By Bus is the most cost effective option but by no way the most comfortable option to get there and usually takes about 4-5 hours, there are only two available times to get a bus to Placencia and in most cases travelers may have to overnight inorder to catch the early bus that reaches Placencia at noon.
